SEO (Search Engine Optimisation).....

SEO is basically concerned with the page rank of your web site or web page on any search engine. The objective of search engine optimization (SEO) is to increase a Web site's traffic counts, and ultimately conversions, by ranking very high in the results of searches for the keywords in the search query. All search engines like Google, Yahoo, Aol , MSN etc follows their own way for optimizing the sites on their search engines.
It is the mission of SEO to make the site's content worthy of higher search engine ranking by being more relevant and competent than the competition's. This SEO process is often viewed as a struggle to rank well for just a few keywords, instead of a struggle to satisfy the needs of those entering the query. If you search on your best keywords you will see the leading sites in the rankings and to obtain traffic for your content you will need to rank higher than those top sites. SEO improves your search engine rankings (traffic and profits). After all, better keyword ranking is the first step to increased Web traffic.

How search engine works?

Search engines crawl, weight, and index Web page content. Crawling is done by a search robot that traverses the links in a Web site and captures the content. Search engines then use algorithms and heuristics to assign weights to Web pages. This information is used to build the search index, which is used to build a results page based on your query.


Their are various factors which affects the SEO ranking factors. Some of the "good ranking factors" are as follows...

* Keyword Focused Anchor Text from External links i.e. if someone searches SEO then, your webpage should contain those words so that the person will visit your site this will increase your page rank and your ultimate aim is to obtain good page rank and best traffic on your site...

* Keyword Use Anywhere in the Title Tag.

* Diversity of Link Sources (links from many unique root domains).

* External Link Popularity (quantity/quality of external links).

* Trustworthiness of the Domain Based on Link Distance from Trusted Domains (e.g. TrustRank, Domain mozTrust, etc.)

Besides having key factors for good SE Optimized page, their are also "negative ranking factors" which are...

* Your server plays an important role here. Frequent Server Downtime & Site Inaccessibility plays a negative role for your webpage ranking.

* Link Acquisition from Known Link Brokers/Sellers is also an important factor which degrades your page ranking over the search engine.

* Cloaking with Malicious/Manipulative Intent. This can serve as serious problem for your bad page rank.

* Links from the Page to Web Spam Sites/Pages. Never link your page to such type of sites they will definitely ruin your page rank...
